Enter this incredible Alfa Romeo GT restomod — the Emilia GT Veloce.
The homage to the iconic coupe, designed and built by German boutique shop Emilia Auto, maintains the original’s recognizable interior and exterior elegance while adding significant improvements in performance.
The main “bonus” feature of the Italian replica is under the hood, where the GT Veloce packs a powerplant from the current Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, specifically its 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine that pushes out 500 horsepower and and 443 pound-feet of torque. Accompanying the engine is an eight-speed automatic transmission featuring all-wheel-drive.
Sitting atop 19-inch wheels, the GT Veloce is also outfitted with improved traction control and Brembo brakes — another gift from the modern Giulia.

The Veloce GT is built on a new chassis with an integrated steel space frame and roll bar. The windows and roof are near carbon copies of the original, and are actually made with lightweight carbon. A taller hood makes room for the impressive engine, while the rest of the body is fine tuned for optimal aerodynamics.
On the inside, the GT Veloce pays its respect to the 1963 model without changing too much — the classic wood-trimmed steering wheel is still there, for example.
Emilia Auto is selling 22 of these exclusive restomods for a cool 400,000 euros (CDN$596,800) apiece.
