Subaru revealed the 2022 WRX last week, introducing a fifth-generation rally sedan built on a new platform with upgraded performance, tech, and safety. The performance vehicle also underwent a significant “redesign,” giving it a fresh look from all angles — progress, according to the brand.

But progress is a tricky thing, especially in the realm of design where opinion rules supreme. 

So, now, before we present the results of our usual Twitter-temperature check that we do whenever a big vehicle gets revealed, if anybody from the Subaru design team is reading this, please first know this: the mean people on the Internet aren’t always right, they’re just always mean.
