The company currently has stations in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia. It will expand further in those provinces, and also add Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.

Electrify Canada said that once the network is completed, drivers can travel from Halifax to Victoria, charging exclusively at the company’s fast-charging stations. The stations are installed at highway and metropolitan locations with amenities nearby, and some stations will include canopies for weather shelter and improved lighting.

The expansion is part of a larger plan to put more than 1,800 fast-charging stations and 10,000 individual chargers across the U.S. and Canada by the end of 2025. The company said the initiative will increase the deployment of 150- and 350-kilowatt chargers, the fastest speed available today.

Electrify was formed in 2016 as a division of Volkswagen to increase public charging availability in Europe, Asia, and North America. Its entry into the United States in 2018 was part of the automaker’s settlement with the U.S. government over the “Dieselgate” emissions scandal. The first Canadian charging stations were installed in 2019.
