Nissan is morphing its midsize Frontier into an all-new, next-generation model, but it’s a gradual process. For 2020, the body and chassis are unchanged, but the truck gets the upcoming model’s new engine and transmission. The Frontier now uses a 3.8-L V6 with direct injection, mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. It comes in King Cab or Crew Cab models; the King Cab is available in two- or four-wheel drive, while the Crew Cab is 4x4. Standard or available features include a spray-in bedliner, Utili-track bed system with moveable cleats, locking tailgate, and cargo bed light. Warranty is 5-year/160,000 km bumper-to-bumper.
