Harley-Davidson teases new bike rocking Revolution Max V-twin engine
If we had to guess, the best engine in motorcycling looks like it might go into Harley's Custom 1250

For all those worrying that Harley-Davidson’s much-acclaimed Revolution Max engine would be orphaned in its widely-acclaimed Pan America , fear not! There’s at least one more bike that will be powered by Milwaukee’s fire-breathing 60-degree variable-valve-timed V-twin.

We don’t know its name and, in fact, the only “official” picture that’s been teased so far shows little more than a set of valve covers and a set of fat high-rise flat track-like headers. But what little detail we can see looks suspiciously like the Custom 1250 that Harley has been talking up for the last year.
Now, if you’re confused because you think you remember that Milwaukee announced that it was cancelling the Pan America’s sibling-in-motors, you’ve got the concept right, but the model wrong. You’re thinking of the “naked” Bronx that was first shown alongside the Pan America as the “future” of Harley-Davidson some two years ago, only to be dumped unceremoniously when new management thought it too sportbike-ish for its new Rewire brand strategy.
No such problem for the Custom, however, which looks like a combination of Harley XR750 flat-tracker and Indian’s best-selling FTR, all powered, of course, by what we’re on the record as saying is the best engine in motorcycling.
As to whether we’re right, well you can see for yourself on July 13 at 10:00 AM CDT, at an event that Harley is dubbing “From Evolution to Revolution.” You can be part of the experience if you’ll just register at the company’s sign-up page .
