All hail the Venom 775 F-150! Hennessey’s newest creation comes in swinging, with 775 raging horses under the hood and an attitude to match, as it hunts down its biggest rival, the Ram TRX. The hypercar manufacturer and high-performance vehicle builder is well known for its obsession with extra horsepower and speed. Any vehicle is fair game — supercars, sedans, even family SUVs and pickups.

This time, it’s a stock Ford F-150 that’s received the custom Hennessey treatment, transforming the otherwise sedate pickup into something decidedly more potent.
What Hennessey Performance has done is take the Ford F-150’s 400-hp 5.0-litre V8, bolt on a 3.0-litre twin-screw supercharger, then add a new intercooler, plus a slew of other upgrades. The end result is a thumping powerplant that cranks out 775 hp and 685 lb-ft of torque.

That’s more power than a Ferrari 488 Pista. Impressive as that may sound, the main kicker here is that it elevates the Venom 775 F-150 above its direct competitor — the Ram TRX, with a power output 702 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque.
A video posted on Hennessey’s YouTube channel shows the supercharged F-150 duelling with the Ram TRX on a test track and easily coming out tops. According to Hennessey, the Venom 775 F-150 can rocket to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.9 seconds; and complete the quarter-mile run in 12.0 seconds at 117 mph (188 km/h).

It’s not just the power upgrades; several aluminum components make the Venom 775 F-150 up to 2,000 lbs lighter than the Ram TRX, depending on the specification. There is also an off-road package that adds ‘goodies’ like integrated front and rear Venom bumpers, a front LED bar, a six-inch lift, and 20-inch Hennessey 10-spoke wheels wrapped in 35-inch off-road tires.
F-150 diehards may have just found the perfect weapon to dethrone the Ram TRX. They will have to move quickly though. Hennessey Performance plans to build only 100 units of the Venom 775 F-150, with each priced at $90,000 to $110,000. It will be offered in either rear-wheel-drive or 4×4 configuration, and orders can be placed directly on the carmaker’s website.
