Lucid announces prices during Canadian flagship opening
Luxury EV maker Lucid opened its first Canadian store – or “studio” – in downtown Vancouver, B.C., on Saturday, October 16. The California-based brand, which already has nine brick-and-mortar locations in its home country, took the occasion to announce Canadian prices for its introductory vehicle, the Lucid Air.
Prices start at $105,000 for the Pure sedan, which has 480 horsepower and a 653-km range; and top out at $229,000 for the top-trim Dream Edition Range and Dream Edition Performance. Read the story here for more details on all four Lucid Air options. A second store is scheduled to arrive in Toronto in 2022.

The Halton Police force was not issuing a health advisory to men when it told Twitter to “#CheckYourBalls” earlier this week . It was, in fact, just trying to get the public’s attention for an important road-safety matter: safe trailer attachment. Did it work? Yeah, it did. The Tweet includes video footage of a truck and trailer that police pulled over for a suspiciously wobbly hitch. “The trailer ball looked like it was moving as it was driving down the road, and sure enough, it was,” the officer says in the video. “The trailer ball was completely loose…”

A group of Canadian technology companies have partnered together with a First Nation from the B.C. interior and the provincial government to advance plans for a modern facility that would use the carbon in air to generate a hydrocarbon fuel to replace petroleum in combustion vehicles.
Basically, the energy company Huron Clean Energy is able to capture atmospheric carbon dioxide and combine it with hydrogen to produce a viable vehicle fuel that can power most ordinary gas engines and emits up to 90 per cent less emissions. The facility is proposed for the Upper Nicola Band area near Merritt, B.C., and will draw $2 million from the provincial Innovative Clean Energy fund for construction.
