Ford debuts 6 Bronco concepts for SEMA, including one on tracks

The custom builds include four full-sizers and a pair of Sports, and range from mild to wild

This year’s SEMA Show, an annual Las Vegas soirée which showcases acres of aftermarket parts and custom factory builds, kicks into high gear this November. Ford is bringing no fewer than six different project vehicles to the party, including one with tracks in place of its wheels.

Some of the rigs are part and parcel of plans sketched out from notes and designed to showcase many of the factory-installed Ford Performance Parts components and dealer-installed accessories that Ford is only too happy to sell its customers.

After all, jacking up the average transaction price of any model – especially a popular and important one like Bronco – looks good in the eyes of investors and company suits alike.

For example, the green-trimmed Fun Runner is a dealer package concept from the crew at RTR, a speed house fronted by Vaughn Gittin Jr. A burlier exhaust has been appended to the 2.3L EcoBoost, along with long-legged front and rear axles for maximum off-road flex. They also tossed in some Fox Performance Elite 2.5 coilovers and 37-inch tires for good measure.

An outfit called Tucci Hot Rods built the quad-track machine shown here, calling it a “snow adventure vehicle” based on a ’21 four-door Badlands. With this build, Tucci says they aim to help drivers take on deep snow and ice with those Mattracks 88-series tracks in place of all-terrain tires. It’s equipped with Ford’s 7-speed stick, meaning it should be a hoot to drive as well.

Others in the group are decidedly more mild, like the Bronco Sport by CGS Performance Products, which incorporates kit such as bumper and hitch enhancements. Still, Ford will surely point out there’s always room on the balance sheet for add-ons like air intakes and seat covers. Those tubular bumpers on the mustard-coloured Baja Forged concept look good, as well.

Additional vintage and race-prepped Bronco models will be on display at the Ford Out Front pavilion, located near the main entrance to the Las Vegas Convention Centre. There will also be a capability course called “Bronco Mountain,” on which attendees and media can experience the off-road capabilities of Bronco and Bronco Sport under the watchful eye of Ford reps.
