Mopar's 2021 SEMA concepts include three-row Wrangler, '67 Kaiser ambulance

Holy Guacamole! The brand's custom Ram, Jeep, and Dodge show cars are giving us ideas

Mopar has released photos of the seven concept vehicles it will display at the upcoming SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show , which opens on November 2, 2021 in Las Vegas.

The Mopar division has been around since 1937, and produces parts and supplies for Dodge, Chrysler, Ram, and Jeep. As do several automakers, it presents a large display of products at SEMA, along with specialty vehicles showing them off. These are the seven concept vehicles that’ll be in the show this year.

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe concept starts with the brand’s new plug-in hybrid and adds a two-inch lift kit with Fox shocks, JPP beadlock-capable wheels, 37-inch BFGoodrich KM3 tires, and custom underbody lights at each corner. It also features a Gorilla Glass windshield, LED off-road lights, tube doors, rock rails, and vinyl floor.
The Jeep Wrangler Overlook concept is a Wrangler Unlimited Sahara stretched to three rows of seats, with a custom modular roof for extra headroom. It has a two-inch lift kit with Fox shocks, 20-inch wheels with 37-inch tires, tubular side steps, and narrowed front bumper with custom lamps.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee L Breckenridge concept has a two-tone custom paint job, 21-inch Mopar wheels, Thule cargo box, all-weather floor mats, and Jeep-branded luggage.
The Ram 1500 TRX RexRunner concept , based on the TRX, includes 18-inch wheels with 37-inch tires, concept 14-inch rectangular LED off-road lights, bed-mounted spare tire carrier, bed extender, custom skid plates with laser-etched lettering, and Mopar rock rails, exhaust tips, and bed step.
The Ram 1500 Outdoorsman concept is based on a Big Horn Crew Cab with a concept dual-height bed rack system with LED lights, sliding bed panels, bed rails with movable cleats, and a two-inch lift kit with Fox shocks. The truck also features a tailgate panel with work surface, and inside, a work tray that slides out from the centre armrest — a pair of concept items that, we noticed, Ford already offers on the new F-150.

The Dodge Challenger Holy Guacamole concept starts with a 2020 Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody and adds a custom-painted gold hood scoop, 20-inch Forgeline wheels, Mopar coil-over suspension lowering kit, and custom green paint dubbed “Rotten Avocado.”
But – try to look surprised – our absolute favourite is the Kaiser Jeep M725 concept, based on a 1967 Kaiser Jeep military ambulance with some serious custom touches.

There’s a Mopar 392 crate V8 under the hood, linked to a vintage TorqueFlite 727 automatic transmission, and it rides on 20-inch wheels with 40-inch tires under widened fenders. The cargo area has a lift-up custom roof panel; the lights are now LED; and the original leaf springs have been replaced with a heavy-duty coil suspension. The interior contains Jeep Wrangler seats, custom-built wheel, modern instrument cluster, and the best part, a custom centre console made from an ammunition box.

The SEMA Show runs November 2 to 5, 2021, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, after being cancelled last year due to COVID-19. While it’s normally a closed trade show, this year – no doubt due to waning attendance because of the pandemic – the public can buy tickets to enter on November 5, as well as attend the SEMA Ignited outdoor car show later that night.
