Ford recalls Mustang Mach-E over windshields, glass roofs popping out
Over 3,000 Canadian-market electric SUVs may be covered by defect that also plagued rival Tesla
Ford is recalling over 3,000 new Mustang Mach-E EVs in Canada specifically over their windshields or panoramic glass roof panels popping out of place.

Ford will notify owners so that they can have their windshield removed and re-installed if their vehicle is affected.
Ford plans to notify affected owners to bring their Mustang Mach-Es to the dealership so more adhesive can be applied.
Both recalls for now apply only to Canadian-market vehicles, even though all Mach-Es are built in the same plant in Mexico. It remains to be seen whether the recall will be expanded into the U.S.
He told the magazine that on the Mustang Mach-E, “the doors fit properly, the plastics and other materials color-match, the bumpers don’t fall off, the roof doesn’t come off when you wash it, the door handles don’t get stuck in cold weather,” running down a litany of reported Tesla issues without naming the company explicitly.
Reports of roofs flying off Tesla Model X electric SUVs date back to at least October 2020, shortly before the automaker rolled out several recalls to fix quality control issues.
