The factory-installed Jeep Performance Parts windshield uses the Corning Gorilla Glass chemical-strengthening technology that’s also found on cellphone screens. The windshield has a thin inner ply with thicker outer ply, which the company said makes it up to three times more resistant to stone chips and cracks while remaining lightweight and durable.
The windshield upgrade is $150 and can be ordered on the Wrangler Sport S, Sahara, and Rubicon, as well as the Gladiator Overland and Mojave.
The Gecko green is one of a few special-run colours for Jeep, and adds $295 to the price. It’s been available on Wrangler since the spring of 2021, with orders for it closing at the end of August. The Gladiator can be ordered with the shade from now until early October 2021.
“Customization is at the core of both Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator, and new colours and equipment allow the customer customization journey to begin at the factory,” said Jim Morrison, vice-president of Jeep Brand North America.
