The two-seat 4X4 military off-roader is one of the game’s all-original vehicle designs, one in which the super-soldier main characters drive around alien planets, killing baddies and busting physics-defying flips and rolls through the air.
And while XBox owners grow antsier and antsier following multiple delays on the release of the new game, Halo Infinite, from Microsoft and its studio maker, 343 Industries, Ken Block and his Hoonigans have delivered a little taste of nostalgia in the form of a real-life, custom-built Warthog (M12-FAV).

It’s a BYOT (Bring Your Own Turret) vehicle, but still one helluva unit worthy of the nameplate. Hoonigan filmed much of the build, which is part of a partnership with Microsoft and Halo, for YouTube, including the research process where they examine a full-scale replica; and the delivery of the vehicle at the world premier of Ryan Reynolds’ movie Free Guy .
In the works and under wraps for over a year, the Warthog sits on a custom chassis, has four-wheel steering, and is powered by a twice-turbo’d Ford V8 engine making 1,060 horsepower. Hoonigan is releasing the build diary in a series of episodes dropping once a week until October.
