Portage la Prairie RCMP say they started receiving calls about an erratic driver heading west on the Trans Canada around 1 AM on Monday morning, doing all sorts of dangerous things including tailgating semis, driving with the lights off, reversing on the highway, and brake checking everybody.

As police set out to search, the next call came in: the individual had been witnessed driving into oncoming traffic, and had already caused another vehicle to hit the ditch and roll.

And that’s when the spike strips come out.

After striking a culvert in a ditch and attempting to flee on foot, the individual was apprehended by police and the RCMP canine unit.
