Designed as an Italian-supercar-fighter, most NSXs of that generation were subjected to the thrashing and modifying of heavy-footed young men who wanted to be just like their Fast and Furious heroes. But not Dirk’s NSX.

His has been treated gently. Very gently, evidently, because it just rolled over the 400,000-mile mark – that’s 643,738 km! – and shows no signs of stopping. 

Jalopnik reports that the NSX, which Dirk purchased with around 70,000 km on it, has undergone just two significant repairs over its long life. A common issue among NSXs, the car’s snap rings failed around 120,000 miles in, so Dirk had them yanked out and replaced with the superior setup from an NSX-R.

Then, at 380,000 miles the car had a suspension overhaul, rebuilding worn bushings, springs, and struts back to their original spec for “reliability and daily drivability,” as Dirk puts it. 

The proud owner posted a picture of the car’s odometer rolling over the number to his Instagram page , tagging Acura and asking if they want to “take [his] car to Japan and refresh it… [because] it’s definitely earned it.”
