The driver of a green pickup allegedly rammed and drove over the hood of a police cruiser in order to escape the Co-op gas station on West Saanich Road where he had been boxed in following a traffic violation at around 3:50 PM on Tuesday, August 31.

An image circulated by the Central Saanich Police shows the truck angling away from the pumps, perhaps lining up a climb over the car’s front.

The truck, an early Dodge Ram with a pretty distinctive lift, did not have front licence plates. And the fact that police are seeking information on it and its driver suggests that nobody got a good look at the plates on the rear, either.

If you recognize the vehicle or have information about the incident, police encourage you to call Central Saanich Police at 250-652-4441, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
