Showing up for just a few seconds on screen was this Chrysler-branded crossover vehicle, being fawned over by Canada’s very own Ralph Gilles as the man explained the importance of smart design and visual elements. No details were given about the vehicle or its name, though it is possible to read between the lines and parse a bit of speculation.

First, the interior of this concept has more screens than a multiplex. In addition to the expected tablets acting as infotainment and gauge clusters, there is one ahead of the passenger similar to what’s found in snazzy variants of the mighty Grand Wagoneer. Then, smaller screens are in the outboard positions showing climate readouts, plus one that seems to motor out of the centre console for seating controls such as massage and the like. It would make sense for these to be touch-enabled.
As for the data being presented on the screens of this concept, the figure of 400 miles (640 km) appears more than once in reference to driving range. Also, a graphic display boasting 183 kWh of ‘total energy’ appears, suggesting the presence of a power-dense battery pack. That figure aligns with targets Stellantis is setting for its ‘STLA Large’ electric drive module platform, a picture of which was shown briefly after this mystery vehicle appeared during the EV Day presentation.

In fact, the same concept vehicle took centre stage in a video created to promote the new joint venture between Stellantis and tech giant Foxconn, a tie-up which plans to infuse future product with an abundance of display screens. Called Mobile Drive, it has been stated that all development will be co-owned by Stellantis and Foxconn. The Netherlands-based joint venture will operate as a tier-one automotive supplier, competitively bidding to supply software solutions and related hardware for Stellantis and other interested automakers.
We’ll have more expert analysis of Stellantis EV Day in the days ahead.
