Ten years on we seem no further along that driverless highway. To find out why that is, where the technology stands today, and what hurdles remain for of us to see that autonomous reality, our guest on this week’s Plugged In podcast is Mark Concannon, a California-based emergent technology expert who has worked on autonomous systems with a number of global automakers.
Among the questions we ask him:
Why do we need autonomous vehicles?
Are electric vehicles better suited as autonomous vehicles than gasoline-powered vehicles? If so, why?
Is Tesla helping or harming the case for autonomous vehicles?
Is the prospect of hacking autonomous vehicle technology a concern?
