For Postmedia Driving senior writer David Booth, six-hour road trips between Toronto and Montreal are almost a weekly occurrence, and as more and more of those excursions involve electric vehicles, he’s started to think — and study — the real world range of electric vehicles on the highway.

The results can be found in his new Range Finder column, where he’s discovered some surprising — and not so surprising — facts about how far these EVs can really go on a single charge, and how efficient — or inefficient — they are in doing it.

From Telsas to Porsches, from Fords to Volkswagens, he’s amassed quite a wealth of range information, and he shares his findings and thoughts on this week’s podcast.
