Most notable are that pre-orders for the all-electric mid-size crossover opened this week, and that Hyundai Canada has confirmed it will be offering the two available batteries — a standard-range 58-kWh pack and a long-range 77.4-kWh pack.

The Ioniq 5 comes standard with rear-wheel-drive, and all-wheel-drive is an option. Two trims will be available, along with an Ultimate package, though no details have yet to be released about what sets Essential and Preferred apart, nor what is part of the Ultimate add-on.

The Ioniq 5 is part of Hyundai Motor Group’s plan to introduce 23 BEV models and sell one million BEV units worldwide by 2025.
