Though camouflaged in a typical dazzle pattern, we’re able to see that this tester remains consistent with the production-ready vehicle spotted in a warehouse back in March . Â
Matching the styling of the celebrated Z Proto , this new model is replete with homages to the iconic 240Z fastback up front and  through the midsection, as well as to the  later 300ZX at the very rear. Â
Though not visible in these shots, we have previously seen further throwbacks inside, including triple-pod gauges.  Digital readouts will modernize the driver experience , for better or worse .  Â
Nissan has confirmed that the new model will be powered by a twin-turbocharged version of the Infiniti 3.0-litre V6 found in the Q60 Red Sport 400, and that it will deliver power through your choice of 2- and 3-pedal transmissions. Â
The new model will replace the aging 370Z, and is expected to arrive later this year as a 2022 model. Expectations are high, and we’re crossing our fingers so hard that they’re starting to go numb. Â
We’ll welcome that official announcement anytime now, Nissan. Â
