Subaru teases the all-new 2022 WRX

It promises to "take your breath away"

The slightest glimpse of the 2022 WRX’s outline is all Subaru has given us, but it’ll have to be enough, for now. Patience is key, but for those who just can’t wait, Subaru’s site  has promised “The newest WRX will be here so fast, it will take your breath away.”

The teaser image only shows the silhouette of the rally-inspired sport compact sedan, but of course, there’s the telltale hood scoop.

According to  Car and Driver , there are rumours suggesting that the new WRX will use a version of the turbocharged 2.4 litre, and the STI (likely to be released a few months after the standard model) will boast over 400 horsepower. It will likely get either a six-speed manual gearbox or a continuously variable automatic transmission with standard all-wheel drive.

Pricing has yet to be  announced , but there will most likely be an increase from the 2021 WRX’s CDN$29,995 base price.
