The rush-hour traffic had yet to subside at 9:30 AM when the calls started coming in. Multiple reports of a female in a sedan, allegedly using the sidewalks on the 100 block of Brodie Street South as a personal laneway, were phoned into police. Upon arrival, cops found a woman in a car, allegedly displaying signs of impairment, but with the vehicle parked on the side of the street.
They also discovered cocaine in the vehicle, along with the paraphernalia commonly used to consume crack. The woman was brought to the station where she was met by the Drug Recognition Expert, who confirmed she was under the influence of the drug.
Police charged her with possession of cocaine and operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by drug. She has been released and is awaiting her day in court.
