In addition to the new trim, the 2022 4Runner adds a new Lime Rush paint colour on the TRD Pro; LED headlamps on all trims; and more safety technology on the SR5, Trail, and TRD Off Road trim levels.
As before, the 4Runner is a body-on-frame SUV, powered by a 4.0L V6 making 270 horsepower, and mated to a five-speed transmission. When properly equipped, towing capacity is 5,000 lbs. Depending on the trim level, seating is for five or seven adults.
The TRD Sport trim, priced at $53,340, includes 20-inch wheels, colour-keyed exterior accents, black roof rails, TRD-style hood scoop, leather-look seat trim, and TRD interior logos. The TRD Sport also adds a suspension enhancement called X-REAS, for Cross-Linked Relative Absorber System, which reduces pitch and yaw, and automatically adjusts the damping forces on corners or rough roads.
Prices for the 2022 4Runner in five-passenger are $47,250 for the Trail trim; $54,670 for the TRD Off Road; $53,350 for the TRD Sport; and $62,250 for the TRD Pro.
In seven-passenger seating, the 4Runner is priced at $50,270 for the SR5; and $57,630 for the Limited. The 4Runner is on sale now.
