Toyota has been named Canada’s Most Respected Auto Manufacturer, according to a recent nationally representative public opinion survey.

The DART Insight and Communications (DART I&C) “Most Respected Corporation Program” was launched in November of 2020, so this survey of vehicle manufacturers is its first.

To rank the brands, research was collected by Maru/Blue Public Opinion Research, which surveyed a nationally representative sample of 3,651 adult Canadians in January 2021.

Second place went to Honda, while Subaru, BMW, and Mazda complete the top five of the 13 companies on the list. The list continues with Ford, Hyundai, Daimler, GM, Tesla, VW, Nissan, and FCA.

“Respect is earned, not just by manufacturing strong products, but through a combination of trusted local service and support, industry leadership, corporate values and genuine community engagement,” said Jeff Munn, Executive Director, Canada’s Most Respected Award Program. “Toyota leadership, dealers and employees should be extremely proud of this national ranking — earned over time.”

The awards for Canada’s Most Respected corporations are broken up into 12 different broad categories for each month of the year, with January’s being Manufacturing. February will see the firm reveal the Canadian public’s most respected technology products brands, March its technology services brands, and April its energy brands.
