A B.C. couple is tired of being disturbed by the sound of crunching plastic and metal in front of their Richmond home. They are hoping a little car-on-car viral video action will help convince the City to quickly replace the intersection’s four stop signs with traffic lights.

The individual videos can be seen on Instagram, but the video compilation submitted to Global News contains more than enough proof that this is a problematic intersection. The one-minute video documents five collisions, including one terrifying incident involving a pedestrian, plus a clip of an SUV blowing through one of the stop signs at what looks like highway speeds.
The front-door camera that caught the accidents belongs to Barb Howells, who lives with her husband at the corner of Williams Road and Shell Road in Richmond, B.C. She believes it’s high time the city installed a traffic light at the intersection.
“We’ve needed a light here for a very long time,” she told Global News.
“And there’s been a lot of people calling for the light. And in our Richmond community post (on) Facebook, people are saying it’s way overdue in our neighbourhood.”
According to the City of Richmond, a total of 10 non-fatal collisions have occurred between those four stop signs in the past 21 months. It also claims a set of lights is set to be installed in March of 2022.
