Watch: U.K. police crush custom-made BMW M3 wagon built with stolen parts

“This BMW was turning heads at a car show. We’ve now crushed it...”

A one-off BMW M3 touring (er, wagon) conversion has been squashed after police in the U.K. discovered the vehicle was built from parts of other stolen cars.

And so it was that this handsome, bright green F80-generation BMW M3 custom’s final act was to die on YouTube in the name of public safety.

“This BMW was turning heads at a car show. We’ve now crushed it…” the caption reads, going on to describe it as a “cut-and-shut of four cars.” The video shows the touring conversion in action at a German car event; during the crushing; and then in a twisted pile at a U.K. plant used to destroy and dispose of illegal and/or dangerous vehicles.

It was Birmingham traffic officers who noticed something off with this particular illegal car. Plates didn’t match the car, nor the engine (it was registered to a diesel BMW) and so the stolen vehicle squad was brought in and was able to trace parts to at least two M3s stolen in the West Midlands area.

It’s sad, not just because it’s a fine build, but because there aren’t any  actual  touring models from this generation of M3. Only conversions exist.

U.K. police advise using reputable dealers or exercising caution when vehicle shopping to avoid picking up a ‘hot’ unit like this.
