A video posted to Facebook on Wednesday showed a transporter full of brand-new Corvette C8s engulfed in flames, strapped and trapped on the back of hauler.

The video, posted to a Corvette enthusiast group by user Corieblue Fickes and first reported on by Corvette Blogger , was taken just outside of Nashville, Tennessee early in the morning. The transport was said to be on its way to deliver the sports cars to dealerships before catching fire.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but Road & Track published an official statement from a Chevrolet spokesperson , saying the American automaker is investigating the situation and its impact.

“On Tuesday evening, a hauler carrying a load of new Corvettes caught fire in Tennessee after the driver pulled into a truck stop to investigate an issue with the truck,” the spokesperson said. “Fortunately, the driver of the truck is okay. Our vehicle logistics supplier is investigating. As we learn more, we will reach out to affected dealers and customers.”

Thankfully, no one was physically hurt; however this video is likely going to cause a significant amount of emotional trauma for years to come.
